Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt gave $1 million to benefit displaced people in Pakistan.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated $1 million to the U.N. agency providing aid to displaced people in Pakistan.

The contribution from the couple's Jolie-Pitt Foundation will benefit more than 2 million people who have been driven from their homes this year by fighting between government troops and Taliban militants in the northwest of the country.
The head of the agency, António Guterres, thanked the Jolie-Pitt Foundation for the generous donation, calling Pakistan's plight "the most challenging humanitarian crisis of the past decade."
Angelina Jolie has visited Pakistan on three missions and will talk about her work aiding refugees on Thursday as she celebrates World Refugee Day in Washington D.C. with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

This act of goodwill comes three days after Pitt and his siblings donated $1 million to create the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center - named after Pitt's mother - in his hometown of Springfield, Mo.
