Forbes:Angelina Jolie is Hollywood's top-earning actress

Angelina Jolie was Hollywood's top-earning actress over the last year, earning an estimated $27 million between June 2008 and June 2009, according to Forbes annual Celebrity 100 list.

In a statement, the magazine said, "Much of Angelina's earnings came from her share of the profits on 'Wanted', but she also scored a fat upfront check for 'Salt', an action film originally slated to star Tom Cruise, in which Jolie plays a CIA agent who is accused of being a Russian spy."
Angelina beat her partner Brad Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, who came second in the list with earnings of $25 million.

Meryl Streep earned $24 million thanks to last summer's hit Mamma Mia, while Sarah Jessica Parker came in fourth with $23 million for the big-screen debut of Sex and the City.
Cameron Diaz was ranked fifth generating $20 million, while Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock tied for sixth place after making $15 million each.
As usual, the actresses earned significantly less than their male counterparts. This year's top-earning actor Harrison Ford earned $65 million, $38 million more than Angelina.

Dance Lover Katie Holmes

Actress Katie Holmes thinks she can dance — and in few weeks, she’ll display her moves before a discriminating audience.

Katie Holmes is set to show off her footwork in a special performance on the 100th episode of US TV talent contest 'So You Think You Can Dance' and producer Nigel Lythgoe says she has astounded everyone with her routine, which is inspired by Judy Garland's 'Get Happy' from the movie 'Summer Stock'.

Katie's husband Tom Cruise and their daughter were regulars at Katie's rehearsals, and Nigel said their pride was clear to see.
He added to People magazine: "It was great to see the sort of family bond. It was beautiful to see".
Katie's dancing is so impressive, Nigel says she would easily pass the show's judging panel if she auditioned seriously.

Memorial For Michael Jackson

Memorial For Michael Jackson

Pop Star Michael Jackson memorial likely Tuesday

A public memorial for pop star Michael Jackson took shape Thursday when a concert backer and family spokesman said the event would take place next week, even as doubt lingered over the guardianship of the singer's children.

A public memorial for Jackson, who died suddenly last week, will be held Tuesday in Los Angeles, and about 11,000 tickets will be given away free of charge for the 20,000-seat Staples Center arena, said concert promoter AEG Live and family representative, Sunshine Sachs & Associates.
Randy Phillips, chief executive of concert promoter AEG Live, told reporters on Thursday Jackson's much-anticipated memorial was being planned for the rock concert and sporting venue the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Meanwhile Debbie Rowe -- the mother of Jackson's two eldest children, Prince Michael Jackson Jr. 12, and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11 -- appeared to set the stage for a legal tussle with Jackson's parents over their future.

"I want my children," Rowe was quoted as telling NBC4 television in Los Angeles.
But her lawyer, Eric George, told reporters Thursday that Rowe was still considering her position.

Actor Ryan O'Neal leads mourners at Farrah Fawcett funeral

Actor Ryan O'Neal led friends and family in a private funeral service on Tuesday for actress Farrah Fawcett, who died last week aged 62 after a long and public battle with cancer.

Her longtime companion, Ryan O'Neal, was among pallbearers who accompanied the casket, covered in yellow and orange flowers, into the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.
Fawcett's friend Alana Stewart and "Charlie's Angels" co-star Kate Jackson were among early arrivals before the hearse pulled up, accompanied by 10 motorcycle officers.
Two mourners carried copies of Fawcett's iconic poster, showing the actress wearing a red swimsuit, tousled blond curls and a broad smile.
Outside the downtown Los Angeles church, a few dozen fans watched as Fawcett's casket was taken inside, covered with sprays of bright yellow flowers that seemed to reflect the sunny smile and golden hair that made Fawcett a worldwide star 30 years ago.

Fawcett died in a Los Angeles hospital on Thursday with O'Neal and Stewart at her side after a long struggle to beat anal and then liver cancer. A personal video diary chronicling her cancer treatments was broadcast on U.S. television in May.
About 500 people were invited to the service, said entertainment journalist Eliot Tiegel, who attended as a guest with his wife, Bonnie, a producer of TV's "Entertainment Tonight."
"All the girls did -- wavy, pretty, surfer, California girl hair," Dishon said. "She is an icon and she is a very beautiful woman, and I think it's too bad that we lost her so young."

Conscious of own acts:Johnny Depp

The 'Public Enemies' star - widely considered to be one of Hollywood's hottest men - avoids examining his appearance and even hates seeing his movies.

"If I can avoid the mirror when I brush my teeth in the morning I will. I find security and safety in the most profound degree of ignorance. If you can just stay ignorant about just about anything you will be OK. Just keep walking forward, says the 46-year-old actor Johnny Depp.

"I don't like to be aware of the product, I like the process. That is not my fault. I didn't do it. I was there but I didn't do it."
Johnny Depp joked to BANG Showbiz: "I would say the way I look is down to clean living. Most definitely. If you can avoid wine I would do it. And liquor definitely. Most definitely don't smoke - anything. "Stay in your room and watch reality television. That is how I do it."

Oscar-winning actor Karl Malden dies at age 97

Karl Malden, the Academy Award-winning actor whose intelligent characterizations on stage, screen and television made him a star despite his plain looks, died Wednesday, his family said. He was 97.

Malden's passing was announced on Wednesday by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where he served as president from 1989 to 1992.
"Karl lived a rich, full life," Academy president Sid Ganis said. "He has the greatest and most loving family; a career that has spanned the spectrum of the arts from theater to film and television, to some very famous commercial work."
He developed a love of acting after appearing regularly in school plays and in productions organized by his father at a local church.
After tying the knot Malden forged a successful Broadway career, appearing in landmark productions such as Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" and Tennessee Williams's "A Streetcar Named Desire."

Malden first gained prominence on Broadway in the late 1930s, making his debut in "Golden Boy" by Clifford Odets. It was during this time that he met Elia Kazan, who later was to direct him in "Streetcar" and "Waterfront."
Malden and his wife, Mona, a fellow acting student at the Goodman, had one of Hollywood's longest marriages, having celebrated their 70th anniversary in December.
Besides his wife, Malden is survived by daughters Mila and Cara, his sons-in-law, three granddaughters, and four great grandchildren.

Pop star Michael Jackson's will found

Pop star Jackson's family had believed that he died without a will, but their lawyer said one had now been found, and suggested there may also be other wills in existence relating to the division of the singer's estate.

"My clients are now aware after filings that a will has been presented. His various advisers are looking for additional documents, said L. Londell McMillan.
"I just saw the will for the first time this morning. We are in the process of reviewing it. We wish we had known about it earlier."

It is believed to divide Jackson's estate between his mother, children and charities. It is not thought to name the singer's father Joe Jackson, with whom he had a sometimes troubled relationship.

pop star Michael Jackson's final hours puzzle doctor

Pop star Michael Jackson's family and his personal physician were at pains to explain on Sunday what caused the troubled pop star's sudden death weeks before his long-awaited comeback.

Dr. Conrad Murray, who was at Jackson's side when he died, told police he did not inject the singer with painkillers before his fatal cardiac arrest on Thursday.
Jackson's father, Joe, said, "I have a lot of concerns. ... I can't get into that, but I don't like what happened."
Tension over the mysterious death came to the surface at the BET Awards, modified at the last minute as a tribute to Jackson's musical genius. Some stars bristled over coverage of Jackson's downward spiral during the last decade, filled with accusations of child molestation and bizarre behavior.

Jackson, 50, was weeks away from an anticipated comeback with a series of 50 concerts in London. He rehearsed regularly up to the night before his death.
Promoter AEG Live said Jackson had passed a four-hour medical exam earlier this year.
Murray -- a cardiologist hired ahead of the concerts and paid by AEG, according to his lawyer -- was surprised to find Jackson unconscious and not breathing in his rented chateau in an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood.
Los Angeles police said after questioning Murray that they do not consider him a suspect. Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times the meeting revealed "no red flag" of criminal activity.

LaToya Jackson scene pulled from Bruno to respect brother

The death of Michael Jackson forced a last-minute cut to Sacha Baron Cohen's comedy Brüno, which premiered in Los Angeles yesterday evening.

As the news broke, a scene in which Cohen interviews the singer's sister, LaToya, was hastily removed from the film. Sources at Universal, the studio behind Brüno, said the decision had been made "out of respect for Jackson's family".
Bruno,” starring British comic Sacha Baron Cohen as a flamboyantly gay Austrian fashion correspondent, is set to come out July 10 and is the follow-up to his 2006 smash “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.” La Toya Jackson had been featured in an absurd interview with Bruno in which she sits on a Mexican man's back and eats sushi off a second, naked man.

Despite this concession, the Brüno premiere still appears to have thwarted fans' attempts to pay tribute to the singer. With Jackson's star on the Walk of Fame cordoned off ahead of the premiere, confused followers reportedly gathered around the nearby star of another Michael Jackson, a veteran LA-based radio commentator.
Jackson hangs out awhile and politely banters with Bruno, who asks whether she will introduce him to her brother, Michael. She tries to deflect his persistent requests but relents when he asks to see her cell phone — then he finds what is supposedly Michael Jackson's number and reads it to his assistant in German.

Sales of Michael Jackson music, videos.

Michael Jackson's death has led to skyrocketing sales of his music and videos, with major retailers selling out of products that regained immense popularity overnight.

Bill Carr, Amazon’s vice president of music and video, said Friday that once the world learned that the pop icon had died Thursday, the Web site sold out within minutes all CDs by Michael Jackson and by the Jackson 5 — the group Jackson and his four older brothers formed out of Gary, Ind., in the late ’60s.
As of Friday afternoon, Jackson’s albums accounted for all 10 of Amazon’s “Bestsellers in Music” list, with the 25th anniversary edition of the celebrated “Thriller” album taking the top spot.
Barnes and Noble's Web site and retail stores also sold out most Jackson CDs, DVDs and books, and its 10 best-selling CDs were Jackson titles. Borders Group's Web site sold out almost everything related to the star; albums also sold out at some of the book seller's retail locations, including its New York stores.

Around the time of Jackson’s death, only one of his albums ranked in the top 100 on iTunes in the United States. By Friday morning, eight of the top 10 albums were Jackson’s. An “Essential” collection of Jackson’s songs compiled by Apple’s iTunes music team was the top-selling album, followed by “Thriller.”
With Amazon sold out of Jackson CDs, Carr said many customers were buying Jackson’s music in digital form. Sales of Jackson-related videos are also up on Amazon — Carr said most DVDs, including the 1978 movie musical “The Wiz,” are currently out of stock.
