The title of Demi Lovato's new album could be a bit misleading. Here We Go Again, which hits shelves on Tuesday (July 21), is anything but a repeat of the songs and topics from last year's debut, Don't Forget.
The song is about Lovato's relationship with her dad, and she hopes that by addressing it she can help her fans out. "It's basically about my past relationship with my birth father. ... I think everybody — well, a lot of people — go through this situation where parents divorce, and what they don't realize is that it really affects you. It's selfish for me to bottle up my past when I could be helping others."
Lovato also got to work with some new people on this album, including one guy she's had on her list of dream collaborators for a while. "I actually wrote two songs with John Mayer, one of which will make the album ['World of Chances'] ... it's a really cool song," she said. "It's the first song we wrote together, and working with him was incredible. It was a pipe dream. I didn't even think it would ever come true, 'cause he's just awesome. He's John Mayer."
